The MAPI Service Provider is only supported against Samsung Contact 8.0.3 or later. 2. Without Server Store profiles are not supported. Please use OFS. 3. User's data in Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Filing Cabinet and BBS are shared between Samsung Contact Clients(Web and Java) and MAPI SP. PIMS data are not shared. 4. If PIMS folders under Filing Cabinet are deleted by a Samsung Contact Web Client or Java Client, they are not recreated when Outlook starts. Do not delete any of PIMS folders unless you will not ever use them again. 5. When adding an Outlook Profile for Samsung Contact Service, IP address cannot be used for Server Name. Register the IP address in the \Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, and use the hostname instead. (When modifying an existing profile, either an IP address or a hostname may be used.) 6. After MAPI SP is uninstalled, starting Outlook may experience a problem, in which case an error message "mapisp32.dll cannot be found" pops up. If this problem occurs, remove "Samsung Contact" from the Outlook Service list (which will be displayed by selecting Control Panel -> Mail -> Service Tab). 7. Ordinary users do not have write access to files in 'C:\windows\openmail\' on NTFS file systems. This can cause an access denied error when creating an Outlook profile. The solution to this is to either make the user a member of the 'power users' or 'administrators' group, or move the openmail folder to a location other than 'c:\windows'. To move the openmail folder, choose the general tab from the Samsung Contact Properties dialog when creating the Outlook profile. Change the 'Local Files' directory to a location where the user has write access, for example, 'C:\openmail'. HOW TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE =========================== To install the software, 1) Read these release notes. 2) Run "Setup.exe" from the distribution media. 3) Choose your preferred language. SERVER CONFIGURATION CHANGES ============================ When sending messages through the internet gateway, HTML and RTF attachments are downgraded to plain text. To retain HTML and RTF attachments as their original type, the following changes need to be made to the internet gateway configuration: 1) Edit ~/sys/mimeout.str and uncomment the lines # 2130 2130 R # 1924 1924 R # 2133 2133 R 2) If you have configured a TNEF gateway, make the same changes to ~/sys/tnefout.str 3) Edit ~/sys/general.cfg and ensure the following configuration options are present UXO_NO_RETAIN_IF_CONVERTED=TRUE INET_INLINE_FNAME_ALLOWED=FALSE 4) Stop and restart the unix gateway omoff -d 0 unix ; omon -s unix ~/ represents the directory containing your Contact instance.
